Long, but very long. This was Chile at the beginning of the 20th century. Well, now it still is, but a little less. In the year this Map was drawn, Chile had incorporated Tacna into its territories, after the War of the Pacific. This would change again with the Treaty of Lima in 1929, where the controversy over the sovereignty of Arica and Tacna ended.
