This is indeed a gem! The illustrations on this World Map made by Ernest Dudley in 1931 transport us to another time. It is one of the favorite maps of the Mappin community.
It shows us a great variety of transport illustrations, showing off the advance of the airplanes and zeppelins of the time. It is done on a Mercator projection, as was a vast majority of the 19th century.
The colors, strokes and the way in which it was made more than 80 years ago, make hanging this painting in your home a window to a long history capable of being interpreted with your eyes.
