Around the year 1790, the geopolitical formation of Latin America was in full process of evolution. During the colonial era, the region had been controlled by the European powers, mainly Spain and Portugal, and the independence of the colonies had begun to emerge in some countries.
An example of this political change was the independence of Haiti in 1804, after a bloody war of independence against France. Haiti became the first country in Latin America to achieve its independence and its liberation from colonial rule.
Another example is the independence of the Thirteen Colonies in 1776, which led to the creation of the United States of America and the consolidation of its political and economic power in the region.
